Wong, King Chuen ( Mario )
.King Chuen Mario Wong is a photographer from Hong Kong who used to work as a commercial photographer in an advertising agency in town. He is currently based in Melbourne after undertaking a Master of Photographer at RMIT, pursuing artistic inspiration and enlightenment in the field.
Mario's photographic practices seek to communicate through imagery depicting personal experiences in everyday life. Inspired by Buddhism, his works attempt to explore the interdependent co-arising between human perception and nature, moments and memories, unveiling the unseen and inadvertent interconnectedness through the lens.
He believes that the photographer creates a unique interdependence with the subject at a specific moment, and together reveals the essence of that moment. In this relationship, the act of photography becomes a way to explore the connection in the mundane, to express and understand "interdependent co-arising," uncovering the deep connection and mutual dependence between the photographer and the subject.
